Mercari fees in 2026
Mercari charges US sellers a 10% selling fee on the item price plus any shipping the buyer pays. Most sellers no longer pay a separate payment processing fee; Mercari charges buyers a service fee instead. If your statement still shows a processing charge, enter it in the processing fields.
| Sale | Mercari fee | You get paid |
|---|---|---|
| $20 item, $5 shipping paid by buyer | $2.50 | $22.50 |
| $40 item, free shipping | $4.00 | $36.00 |
| $100 item, $10 shipping paid by buyer | $11.00 | $99.00 |
When the buyer pays shipping, you still buy the label from that money, so your real take-home is the payout minus the label.
Free shipping on Mercari
If you offer free shipping, the label comes out of your sale price, and the 10% fee is charged only on the item price. Fees end up close either way; what matters is setting the price to cover the label. Our guide to free vs charged shipping covers the trade-off.
Mercari vs other resale apps

| Mercari | 10% of item plus shipping | None for most sellers | Buyer or seller pays |

On a $40 item with $6 shipping paid by the buyer, Mercari's fee is $4.60, Depop's processing is $1.97, and Poshmark takes $8.00. The table under the calculator does this for your own numbers.
