Depop fees in 2026
Depop removed its 10% selling fee for UK sellers and then, in July 2024, for US sellers. What's left is a payment processing fee of 3.3% + $0.45 in the US (2.9% + £0.30 in the UK), charged on the item price plus shipping and any tax. Sellers in most other countries still pay the 10% selling fee.
If you boost a listing, Depop charges 12% on sales that come from the boost (8% for listings boosted before 23 March 2026).
Worked example: a $40 item with $6 shipping
| Line | Amount |
|---|---|
| Buyer pays | $46.00 |
| Payment processing (3.3% of $46 + $0.45) | $1.97 |
| Shipping label | $6.00 |
| Item cost and packaging | $12.50 |
| Net profit | $25.53 (55.5% margin) |
If the sale came from a boosted listing, the 12% Boost fee would add $5.52 and profit would fall to $20.01.
Is Depop cheaper than Poshmark and Mercari?
For US and UK sellers, usually yes, because there's no selling fee. On the same $40 item, Poshmark keeps $8.00 and Mercari $4.60, against $1.97 on Depop. The deciding factor is often who buys there: Depop's audience leans towards streetwear, vintage and younger shoppers.
| Platform (US, 2026) | Main fee | Processing | Shipping |
|---|---|---|---|
| TikTok Shop | 6% referral fee (5% jewelry) | Included | TikTok fulfilment or labels |
| Poshmark | 20%, or $2.95 under $15 | Included | Buyer pays the prepaid label |
| Mercari | 10% of item plus shipping | None for most sellers | Buyer or seller pays |
| Depop | 0% selling fee | 3.3% + $0.45 | Buyer or seller pays |
